Life Action Family Camp

We had a blast at Life Action Family Camp last week. I would recommend this vacation to any family that enjoys:
  • growing in their relationship with Christ
  • growing closer as a family
  • eating great food
  • having some help with the kids
  • being able to participate in lots of fun activities
  • participating in outdoor recreation
  • spending time together "away from it all"
  • learning how to further grow your family once you return home

They are probably close to being booked for 2009, so if Family Camp is something you are considering, you'll want to check into it soon. Also, here is a link to a sample schedule from this year's camp.

Family camp sounds great, so I checked into it as a possibility for our family. It would cost us almost $900 staying in a cabin, the cheapest lodging. Ouch! If we had a large enough tent, it would only be $600, savings us $300, but a tent big enough for our family would cost more than the savings. So I guess family camp is not in our future. Maybe someday!

You're right, it's not a cheap vacation. However, you do need to keep in mind that all of the food, snacks and drinks are included. It would definitely be cheaper to stay home, but compared to the costs of other family vacations, I think Family Camp compares quite favorably economically (especially since it would only take 4 gallons of gas to get there and back from Wakarusa.)

Doesn't it cost at least $100 a day to feed your family snacks and three meals a day on the road?

The point of my Family Camp blog week was not to convince people that they should take their family. It was just to let people know more about it, so they might have a better idea if it would be a good vacation for their family.

Knowing your family though, I do think that you would love a week at family camp.

I do think it sounds great. Getting Curt to spend that kind of money on something with "camp" in the title is another thing! He sees "camp" and thinks "cheap". Maybe in a couple of years I will be able to convince him. I do think it is worth the money!
